Coimbatore: The police in Sulur have made a significant arrest in the fight against illegal drug trade. Acting on a confidential tip about the transportation of ganja in the Sulur Police Station area, a special police team conducted vehicle checks in Neelambur on January 27.
During the operation, Nagaraj, 45, was apprehended while in possession of ganja. The police seized 5 kilograms of the substance from him, along with Rs. 50,000 in cash and a four-wheeled vehicle. Nagaraj was subsequently brought before a court and has been remanded to custody. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the Coimbatore police to clamp down on the illegal drug trade in the region.
