TNAU granted with a design patent

Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, TNAU honoured the patent holders by handing over the patent certificates on the 30th of January 2024 in the presence of the Dean, SPGS and Dean, AEC and RI, Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: “Narrow Row Spaced Weeding and Earthing Up Equipment” The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has been awarded a design patent for the invention of the 'Narrow Row Spaced Weeding and Earthing Up Equipment'. The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks of the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry granted this patent.

Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, TNAU honoured the patent holders by handing over the patent certificates on the 30th of January 2024 in the presence of the Dean, SPGS and Dean, AEC&RI, Coimbatore. Featuring a unique design mechanism, the power operated weeding cum earthing-up equipment is designed to remove weeds from narrow rows by spading action and earthing up the soil with the miniature plough.
