Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has announced a significant milestone in public health welfare with the issuance of 52,161 health insurance cards in the district. This development comes as part of the Chief Minister's comprehensive health insurance scheme, launched in anticipation of the Kalaignar Centenary Celebration. The initiative, which began on January 9, 2024, and will continue until February 29, 2024, encompasses several regions, including Kinathukadavu, Thondamuthur, Sulur, Pollachi, Valparai, Madathukulam, and Udumalaipettai. During this period, 32,304 new cards were issued and 19,857 existing cards were renewed, marking a significant push towards enhancing healthcare accessibility. The special camp, which aims to facilitate the public in obtaining these health benefits, is set to conclude on February 29, 2024, inviting widespread participation from the community.
