Coimbatore: In a targeted crackdown, Coimbatore police rescued three young women from a prostitution ring in a lodge located on DB Road, R.S. Puram. The operation, executed on February 18, came after police received anonymous tips regarding the illicit activities.
During the raid, evidence of the lodge being used for prostitution was uncovered, leading to the arrest of three individuals implicated in the operation. The suspects identified were Ibrahim Khan, a 48-year-old from Tirupur Palladam, Dennis, aged 52 from Bengaluru, and Sreenath, 56, who worked as the lodge's receptionist.
The court proceedings followed the arrests, where the accused were remanded into custody. Among those rescued was a 23-year-old woman from Bengaluru. The police have since relocated the rescued women to a protective shelter, ensuring their immediate safety and commencing their rehabilitation process.
