24*7 Breast Milk ATM Launches in Coimbatore to Alleviate Newborn Hunger

Addressing the critical need for breast milk among newborns, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Center introduces a 24*7 Breast Milk ATM in Pachapalayam, ensuring a constant supply of this essential nutrient. This innovative facility offers free breast milk, aiding in the healthy growth of infants.

Coimbatore: In an innovative step towards child healthcare, Coimbatore has unveiled a 24*7 Breast Milk ATM in Pachapalayam, providing a reliable source of nutrition for newborns who are in dire need of breast milk. This facility is established at the Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Center, marking a significant advancement in addressing the gap in breast milk availability.

Breast milk is universally acknowledged for its irreplaceable nutritional value, critical for the healthy development of infants. However, modern dietary habits and health challenges have led to a decrease in milk production among mothers, leaving many newborns without adequate breast milk. To combat this, hospitals have facilitated breast milk donations, but accessibility around the clock remained a challenge until now.

The 24*7 Breast Milk ATM operates to bridge this gap, ensuring that donated breast milk, after thorough medical screening and approval, is available throughout the day. This service is not only a boon for mothers facing lactation issues but also for the healthy growth of babies, ensuring they receive the best start in life.

Volunteers play a crucial role by raising awareness among potential donor mothers about the importance of breast milk donation. The collected milk is stored in refrigerated units, maintaining its nutritional integrity until dispensed. This initiative guarantees that every child in need has access to breast milk at any hour, free of charge, upon presenting a doctor’s prescription.

This pioneering approach highlights the community’s commitment to infant health and well-being, setting a new standard in child care and support. The Breast Milk ATM in Coimbatore stands as a testament to the innovative use of technology for social good, aiming for a future where no child suffers from the lack of access to breast milk.
