Coimbatore City Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS conducted a field inspection of ongoing development works in the South Zone areas, including the construction of new facilities under capital grant funds, on February 26, 2024.
Coimbatore: In a proactive move to oversee and expedite development projects in the South Zone of Coimbatore, City Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS personally visited various project sites on February 26, 2024. His inspection focused on the swift and quality completion of infrastructure enhancements, including new construction works funded through capital grants.
One of the key areas visited by Commissioner Prabakaran was the Sundarapuram Tomato Market area, within Ward No. 96, where a project valued at Rs. 67 lakhs is underway. This initiative includes the construction of new restrooms and laying of pavers, aimed at improving public amenities in the market area. The Commissioner instructed the relevant officials to ensure these works are completed efficiently and made available for public use at the earliest.
Continuing his inspection, Commissioner Prabakaran also reviewed the progress of additional classroom constructions at a municipal school in K.V.K. Nagar, falling under Ward No. 97. The education sector development, valued at Rs. 48 lakhs under the municipal education fund, seeks to enhance learning environments by adding three new classrooms.
The inspections were attended by South Zone Chairman Mrs. R. Danalakshmi, Council Member Mr. Gunasekaran, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Prem Anand, Executive Engineer (Po) Mr. Karuppasamy, Assistant Executive Engineer Mr. Kanagaraj, Assistant Engineers Mr. Sundarrajan, Mr. Sabarirajan, and other municipal officials.
