Karpagam College of Engineering Hosts Workshop on Machine Learning and Data Analytics

The Department of Information Technology at Karpagam College of Engineering organized a one-day workshop on "Machine Learning and Data Analytics" on February 24, 2024. Over 100 participants from various institutions across Tamil Nadu attended, gaining insights into data science through practical sessions on Python and Anaconda.


Coimbatore: In an initiative to bolster knowledge in the burgeoning field of data science, the Department of Information Technology at Karpagam College of Engineering successfully conducted a one-day workshop titled "Machine Learning and Data Analytics" on February 24, 2024. This educational event drew over 100 enthusiastic participants from various institutions throughout Tamil Nadu, highlighting the widespread interest in machine learning and data analytics.

Dr. N.M. Saravanakumar, the Head of the Department, inaugurated the workshop with a warm welcome address. He expressed his gratitude towards the participants for their keen interest and underscored the significance of machine learning and data analytics in the current technological landscape.



The workshop featured two insightful sessions designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience. The morning session, led by Dr. Deepa S, Associate Professor in the Department of EC at Karpagam College of Engineering, focused on Data Analytics using Python. Participants were introduced to Python programming, data manipulation, and visualization, along with statistical analysis techniques.



Following the morning session, Dr. Saravanakumar G., Professor in the Department of EC, took over the afternoon session on Machine Learning using Anaconda. This session offered hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, enabling participants to delve into predictive modeling and analysis.



The workshop not only served as a platform for learning but also facilitated networking and collaboration among participants from diverse backgrounds. It fostered a deeper understanding of the latest advancements in data science, equipping attendees with valuable skills and knowledge essential for navigating the dynamic field of data science.



In concluding the workshop, A Suganya, Assistant Professor in the Department of IT and the coordinator of the workshop, delivered the vote of thanks. She extended her gratitude to the resource persons for their invaluable contributions, the participants for their active engagement, and everyone involved in organizing the event, marking it as a resounding success.
