On March 8, 2024, Coimbatore's renowned educational institution, Park Group of Institutions, celebrated Women's Day under the name "Durga" for the 12th consecutive year, in remembrance of the Nirbhaya case.

Coimbatore: In a significant celebration of Women's Day, the Park Group of Institutions, one of the leading educational bodies in Coimbatore, has been hosting the event named "Durga" for the past 12 years. This initiative began in 2012 as a tribute to the Nirbhaya case, symbolizing the strength and resilience of women.

The event took place at the group's campus in Kaniyur, where all students and faculty members participated. Dr. Anusha Ravi, the Chief Operating Officer of the Park Group of Institutions, presided over the function, ensuring its grand success.

The ceremony was graced by the speeches of principals Dr. Lakshmanan, Dr. Karthikeyan, Dr. Kumaresan, and General Manager Satish Kumar, who extended their wishes for the event.

In her keynote address, Dr. Anusha Ravi recalled the powerful words of Bharathi, urging to burn down the degradation of women. She emphasized that true women's freedom lies in maintaining their self-worth despite facing numerous challenges. Reflecting on her experiences working in the United States, where she was the only woman in a project team, Dr. Ravi highlighted her achievements against all odds and extended her Women's Day greetings to all women, inspiring them to overcome challenges and succeed.

Faculty members shared their personal stories of overcoming gender-based challenges, reinforcing the message that women can achieve anything in today's world.

To commemorate Women's Day, saplings were planted in the campus area. The celebration concluded on a sweet note with the distribution of cake to all participants, marking the end of a memorable day.
