Five More Arrested in Connection with the Abduction and Assault of a Minor Girl at Vellakovil

In a disturbing incident during the Vellakovil temple festival, a minor girl abducted and assaulted has led to five more arrests, adding to the two initially detained. The accused were taken to court and remanded in custody as police continue their search for additional suspects involved in the heinous crime.


Coimbatore: Following the arrest of two individuals in connection with the abduction and assault of a minor girl at the Vellakovil temple festival, five more have been arrested by the Kangayam Women's Police. The recent arrests include Dinesh (27) from Moolanur Mambadi, Balasubramaniam (30), Naveenkumar (26) from Vellakovil A.P. Pudur, Nandhakumar (30) from Vellakovil Mayilrangam, and Tamil Selvan @ Sathish (28) from Vellakovil Bharathi Nagar.



The incident, which took place during a musical performance at the temple festival, has shocked the local community. The police acted on leads that resulted in the arrest of the five individuals, who were then subjected to interrogation. Later in the evening, they were presented at the Tirupur Court before being remanded to custody.

This case has drawn significant attention, prompting a thorough investigation by the police to apprehend all individuals involved in this crime against the minor. The community awaits justice as the police continue their efforts to bring all culprits to book.
