TNAU students offered with Malabar Charitable Trust's scholarship

Coimbatore: A scholarship awarding program by Malabar Charitable Trust to students studying in various disciplinesat Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Government Arts College and Government School students was held at Anna Auditorium, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University campus,Coimbatore on 13.03.2024.

The program was inaugurated with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Vice- Chancellor Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Registrar Dr. R. Thamizh Vendan, Dean (Agriculture) Dr. N. Venkatesa Palanichamy, Scholarship Nodal Officerof Tamil Nadu Agriculture University Dr. P.G.Kavithaand Tamil Nadu West Zone President of Malabar Gold and Diamonds Naushad.

C. Devaraj, Marketing Manager, Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Coimbatore welcomed the gathering. Dean (Agriculture), Dr. N. Venkatesa Palanichamy, in his welcome address said that the Scholarship Cell, which has been running for the last two years in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has been organizing scholarships for economically backward, differently-abled students and single parent students through various charities. He also said that 46 female students will be given educational assistance through the Malabar Gold and Diamonds Company.

Registrar of Tamil Nadu Agriculture University Dr. R. Thamizh Vendan said that it is a matter of pride to provide educational assistance to female students through the Malabar Gold and Diamonds Institute, and through this institute, female students studying in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and students studying in government schools and colleges are benefiting. He further added that providing scholarships for education is a permanent wealth for women rather than providing them with gold wealth.



Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, in her keynote address, congratulated the various welfare schemes run by Malabar Gold and Diamonds. She said that around 750 girl students have benefited from this education scholarship scheme. She expressed her wishes for the further development of the scheme saying that if a girl is educated, the family will be uplifted.

Also, the employees of Malabar Gold and Diamonds Company and the headmaster of the scholarship receiving government school added some special notes in their address.

At the end of the program Dr. P.G.Kavitha, Nodal officer of Scholarship Cell of the University in her vote of thankssaid that in the last two years, the students studying in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University have benefited by receiving scholarships from various charitable organizations through the Scholarship cell of Tamil Nadu Agriculture University. She thanked the Malabar Charitable Trust for providing the scholarship and the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University for supporting them.
