Pre-Election Consultative Meeting Held at Coimbatore District Collector's Office

In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a consultative meeting with printing press owners, banner makers, bank representatives, journalists, and TV reporters was held at Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati's office on March 15.


Coimbatore: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Coimbatore District Collector's office hosted a consultative meeting in the auditorium to discuss election advertising, notices, and the printing of banners and posters. The meeting, chaired by District Election Officer and District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, saw the participation of all printing press owners, flex banner makers, representatives from various banks, journalists, and TV reporters on March 15.

During the meeting, the District Collector highlighted the procedures to be followed once the election conduct rules are in effect. This included monitoring suspicious transactions, overseeing sudden large transactions in bank accounts, and ensuring necessary documentation is kept in bank vehicles during cash transportation.

Printing press owners were advised to submit a copy of any political party's campaign material printed by them to the District Collector's office and ensure that the details of the press are printed on all materials. It was emphasized that legal action would be taken against the press owners in case of non-compliance. Additionally, journalists were reminded to adhere to legal regulations when publishing news related to the elections.

The meeting underscores the district administration's commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent election process, focusing on strict adherence to election conduct rules and regulations.
