Kongu Makkal Desiya Katchi petitions Collector on the plight of residents of East Zone

Members of the Kongu Makkal Desiya Katchi have petitioned the District Collector on the plight of the residents and motorists of the East Zone comprising of Singanallur bus stand, Vardharajapuram, Upplipalayam  and Sowripalayam.

The petitioners allege these areas belonging to the East Zone has been facing long-pending issues and that the Corporation has not initiated any action, so far. 'In ward no: 56, due to non-closure of the drainage potholes motorists passing by the area are prone to serious accidents. And, at the Singanallur bus stand, irregular removal of trash is leading to health hazards as stray dogs and infectious flies are all over the place. Public unable to bear the foul smell emanating from the trash are unable to stand in the bus stands even for a short while.

In ward no 66 the drinking water pipe leakage is not been addressed till date. While the city is experiencing serious water crisis, water getting wasted on the rods is intolerable. The wasted water accumulates in the potholes on the road and bothers the motorists big time', said the Members of the Kongu Makkal Desiya Katchi in their petition.

The petitioners also highlighted the drainage that runs along the Mid-day meals Middle level School at Upplilipalayam which pose serious sanitation issues to the children.

The petitioners also alleged that the they would go in for a protest in the above-mentioned issues remain unresolved.
