Coimbatore: Tensions ran high in Pollachi as DMK candidate Eswarasamy and his team attempted to inspect the securely held voting machines at Mahalingam Engineering College, located on the Pollachi-Udumalai Road.

According to sources, the candidate along with his campaign chiefs was initially barred from entering by the police due to lack of senior officials on site, leading to a heated argument.

Police stated that access could only be granted after obtaining permission from senior officials, as the machines were held under tight security, which includes authorization from higher authorities.

Following this, only Eswarasamy and the chief campaign officer were permitted entry after securing the necessary approvals.

Post-inspection, Eswarasamy addressed the media, stating that the Election Commission has provided robust security for the voting machines. He also confirmed that there were no complaints regarding the cameras installed at the location.
