Vibrant Fire Dance Marks Sri Maha MahaKaliyamman Temple Festival in Mettupalayam

The annual festival of Sri Maha MahaKaliyamman Temple in Mettupalayam commenced two days ago, featuring traditional arts like fire dance and Karakattam, drawing large crowds of devotees.


Coimbatore: The Sri Maha MahaKaliyamman Temple located in Mettupalayam recently commenced its grand annual festival. The festival began with traditional rites and quickly escalated into a vibrant display of local arts and devotion.


Following the flag hoisting ceremony, the festival's highlight was the fire dance performed by devotees around the sanctified post. This occurred on May 1 and was met with enthusiastic participation from the community. Devotees danced around and paid homage to the goddess, which was followed by a spectacular display of Karakattam.
