Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, the family of a local tribal leader, Ravi, who died after an attack by a wild elephant, received condolences and assistance from the forest department. The attack took place in Villoni Nedungundram, a hill settlement within the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve region in Valparai. Ravi was reportedly attacked and killed by the elephant while in the forest area.
Following the incident, forest officers including Devendra Kumar and Meena, alongside Anaimalai Tiger Reserve Deputy Director Devendra Kumar, visited the Nedungundram settlement on May 12. They expressed their sympathies and assured the bereaved family of all possible help. The officials also promised to provide all necessary facilities to cope with the aftermath of the tragic event.
