Youth Involved in Robbery Detained Under Goondas Act in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore's Saravanampatti, 19-year-old Soundarrajan has been arrested and detained under the Goondas Act following his involvement in a robbery case.


Coimbatore: A young man from the region of Saravanampatti, identified as 19-year-old Soundarrajan, son of Palanisamy, has been incarcerated under the stringent Goondas Act for his involvement in a robbery case.

The arrest was made by the local police under the jurisdiction of the Kovilpalayam Police Station. Following his apprehension, the Coimbatore SP, Badri Narayanan, recommended action under the Goondas Act, leading Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati to officially order Soundarrajan’s detention under the said act on May 21st.

This stringent legal action denotes the administration’s firm approach towards tackling crimes of robbery in the region, ensuring community safety by detaining those identified as threats.
