Leopard Captures Chicken in Thadagam, CCTV Footage Goes Viral

In Thadagam near Coimbatore, CCTV footage of a leopard taking away a chicken early morning has gone viral, alerting local residents and forest officials.



Coimbatore: The Thadagam area, adjacent to the Western Ghats in Coimbatore, often witnesses wildlife encroaching into residential zones. Recently, video clips have surfaced, showing a leopard roaming the area, creating quite a stir.

In an incident yesterday morning, a family in Somaiyanur Thiruvalluvar Nagar of Thadagam, discovered that their pet chicken, which was out near their motorbikes, was captured by a leopard.



The family reviewed CCTV footage after finding feathers in front of their house, which recorded the leopard jumping over a wall and making away with the chicken.

The footage caused considerable alarm among the locals. The family has urged the community to remain vigilant, and the incident has been reported to forest officials. There's a growing expectation among the residents that forest authorities should take more proactive measures to ensure public safety against such unpredictable wildlife interactions.
