In separate incidents, Shivaji and Kamrunisha were arrested in Coimbatore for possessing 11 kg and 12 kg of ganja, respectively. They have now been detained under the Goondas Act following recommendations by Coimbatore SP Badri Narayanan.
Coimbatore: In a recent crackdown on drug trafficking, the Coimbatore police have arrested two individuals in separate incidents for possession of significant quantities of ganja.

Shivaji was arrested earlier under the suspicion of holding 11 kilograms of ganja within the Madukkarai police station limits. Following the recommendation of SP Badri Narayanan, Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati ordered Shivaji's detention under the Goondas Act on June 9.
In a similar case, Kamrunisha from Kerala was arrested for possessing 12 kilograms of ganja within the Thadagam police station limits. The detention under the Goondas Act was also facilitated by SP Badri Narayanan's recommendation to Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, resulting in Kamrunisha's arrest under the stringent law on June 9.
