Large Python Spotted Near Brick Kiln in Nanjundapuram, Coimbatore

A 10-foot python was discovered near a brick kiln in Nanjundapuram, Coimbatore, causing panic among residents. Wildlife officials and snake catcher Vignesh Kumar safely relocated the snake.

Coimbatore: In a surprising encounter, a large python measuring approximately ten feet in length was found near a brick kiln in Nanjundapuram, causing alarm among the local residents. The python was initially noticed curled up in the bushes close to the kiln. Upon sighting the snake, locals immediately contacted both the Forest Department and Vignesh Kumar, a professional snake catcher associated with the Wildlife and Natural Conservation Trust.

Responding promptly, Kumar along with the Forest Department personnel reached the location. Using specialized snake-catching equipment, Kumar successfully captured the python and secured it within a safe container. The captured reptile was later released into the Mangarai forest area.

Authorities have urged the public to maintain cleanliness around their living areas to prevent similar incidents, especially during the rainy season which leads to overgrowth and provides natural shelters for snakes. With the oncoming monsoon, the growth of bushes and wild plants is inevitable, increasing the chances of snakes taking refuge in nearby areas.

As the locals in Nanjundapuram breathe a sigh of relief after the python's relocation, conservationists and environmental enthusiasts emphasize the importance of keeping surroundings clean not to attract wild wildlife. While pythons are common in forest areas, their appearance in human habitats can be minimized by reducing bush and debris accumulation.
