In Udumalai, Tiruppur, a man named Vijayakumar is allegedly in hiding after cheating a farmer, Radhakrishnan, by failing to complete a bank transaction for a Rs 4 crore land deal.
Coimbatore: In a shocking fraud case emerging from Udumalai, Tiruppur district, a farmer has reportedly been cheated in a land deal resulting in a loss of Rs 4 crores. The victim, Radhakrishnan from Manupatti, owned 41 acres of agricultural land in Andiyar Goundanoor. In October 2021, Vijayakumar from Annur in Coimbatore district agreed to buy the land for Rs 4.10 crores. He promised to execute the transaction through a bank but allegedly defaulted.
Radhakrishnan claims that after persistent follow-ups, Vijayakumar returned only Rs 37.25 lakhs and subsequently threatened him with murder for demanding the remaining amount. Following the filing of a complaint by Radhakrishnan with the Tiruppur district crime branch, a case was registered, and an investigation was initiated. Police have now formed special teams to locate Vijayakumar, who remains absconding.
