Court Orders Inquiry in Annur Taluk Over Ostracism

Following a court order, an inquiry into the ex-communication of a family over an inter-caste marriage was held in Annur Taluk, Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: Acting on a directive from the court, Revenue Divisional Officer Govindan conducted an inquiry at the Annur Taluk Office concerning the two-year ex-communication of a family from Vadakkalur village due to an inter-caste marriage. The inquiry was initiated following a petition by the girl’s father, Sundaram. During the investigation, the RDO warned the villagers against legal actions if they continued to obstruct the family’s participation in public events, leading to an apparent reconciliation among the community members.
