On Thursday, Ponraj intercepted bus number 41 operating on the Pollachi-Valavadi route. Standing alone in front of the bus, he refused to let it pass, claiming, "This area doesn't get proper water supply. I won't let the bus go until water comes." He continued his disruptive behavior for more than an hour, causing significant delays.

During the standoff, Ponraj made peculiar statements, including, "I won't fold my dhoti. If I do, it'll look different."
