On the first Friday of Aadi month, hundreds of women participated in the Thiruvilakku Puja at the famous Sukreeswarar Temple in Tirupur, offering prayers for various blessings.
Tirupur: The Sri Sukreeswarar Temple in Sarkkar Periyapalayam village, Uthukuli taluk, Tirupur district, witnessed a significant gathering of women for the Thiruvilakku Puja on the first Friday of the Tamil month of Aadi.

The temple, dedicated to Lord Sukreeswarar and Goddess Avudainayaki, held special decorative pujas for the deities prior to the main event.

Over a hundred women participated in the Thiruvilakku Puja, which followed the special alankara puja for Lord Sukreeswarar and Goddess Avudainayaki. The devotees performed rituals using bangles, turmeric, kumkum, mangalyam (sacred thread), coconuts, bananas, and rice.
The women lit lamps and offered prayers for various causes, including world peace, agricultural prosperity, marriage prospects for unmarried women, long-lasting marital bliss for married women, and blessings for children. The ritual concluded with the distribution of prasadam to all participants.
