The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) police were conducting vehicle checks on the Coimbatore Sungam Bypass Road when they intercepted a suspicious two-wheeler. Upon inspection, they found 4 kg of ganja in the possession of the rider. The suspect was identified as Bhishma Dandi (29), a native of Kandhamal district, Odisha.

In a separate incident near Idigarai in Thudiyalur, the police intercepted another two-wheeler carrying 8 kg of ganja. Two individuals were apprehended in this case. They were identified as Ramesh (45) from Perumanallur, Tiruppur, and Jadaba Behera (33) from Balangir district, Odisha.
