TNAU and Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Limited Sign MoU for Commercialization of Stored Grain Insect Trap

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Limited signed an MoU on August 2 to commercialize the "Stored Grain Insect Trap" developed by TNAU. The trap detects and captures insects in stored grains.


Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) and Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Limited from Varanasi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the commercialization of the "Stored Grain Insect Trap". The agreement was signed on August 2, as per a press release from TNAU.

The Directorate of Agribusiness Development, operating under TNAU, has been commercializing technologies, machinery, and hybrid varieties released by the university. The "Stored Grain Insect Trap" is a device designed to detect and capture insects in stored food grains. This innovative trap was developed by Dr. S. Mohan, a Professor of Entomology at TNAU.

Dr. Tamil Vendhan, Registrar of TNAU, signed the MoU on behalf of the university, while Mr. Poornendra Sekhar Pandey, Director of Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Limited, signed on behalf of the company.

The signing ceremony was attended by several notable figures from TNAU, including Dr. Somasundaram, Director of Agribusiness Development; Dr. Raviraj, Dean of Agricultural Engineering College; Dr. Balakrishnan, Professor and Head of the Food Processing Department; and Dr. Mohan, retired Professor of Entomology. Other scientists and officials from the university were also present at the event.

This collaboration between TNAU and Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Limited is expected to bring the "Stored Grain Insect Trap" to the market, potentially benefiting farmers and grain storage facilities across the country.
