State Bandh: City to go on 'sleep mode', most essentials services will be disrupted tomorrow.


The all-party protest tomorrow is likely to disrupt all major essential services like buses, autos, lorries and shops across the state. As major trade unions like CITU, State Lorry owners association.Tamil Nadu Traders’ Federation, State Hotel Association have expressed their support for tomorrow's bandh, most of the essential services will remain shut.

Hence, Autos, buses (a majority of govt buses and all private buses), hotels, provision shops, milk outlets, departmental stores, cinema theatres, medical shops, lorry services, will be non-operational in the city. However, all petrol pumps will function as usual. The TN trade association of petrol pumps have stated that they will operate as usual tomorrow and that their employees are advised to wear black badges.

Hence, people are busy shopping the essentials in advance, especially milk packets, eggs, idly flour, curd and vegetables.
