Herd of elephants frightens tourist at Barliyar, Ooty Main Road.

Yesterday morning, the public, mostly tourists were horrified to spot a herd of elephants marching towards the shops at Barliyar, Ooty Main Road. 

The shop keepers alerted the forest officials and asked the public to stay safe inside their vehicles. After a tricky fight, the forest officials chased the herd back into the forests.

'Since the Jackfruit season has begun, elephants from the forests throng Barliyar, as this place is crowded with Jackfruit trees'. said a tea vendor at Barliyar.
