BJP Women's Wing in Udumalpet Holds Candlelight Vigil for Murdered Kolkata Medical Student

BJP Women's Wing in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district, organized a candlelight vigil to condemn the rape and murder of a medical student in Kolkata. The event took place at the local BJP office, with various party leaders participating.



Coimbatore: The BJP Women's Wing in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district, held a candlelight vigil today to condemn the rape and murder of a medical student at a private college in Kolkata. The event took place at the local BJP office, following directives from Vanathi Srinivasan, National Secretary of the BJP Women's Wing, and as per the advice of State President Annamalai and Tiruppur South District President Mangalam Ravi.

The vigil was led by Karthika, the district president of the BJP Women's Wing. Participants paid their respects to the deceased student by lighting candles in her memory.



Notable attendees included Kannayiram, the town BJP president; Rathidevi, the town women's wing president; Radhika, the district women's wing general secretary; Kala, the district secretary; Vidya, the district women's wing secretary; Palaniyammal, the town women's wing vice president; Annapoorani, the town women's wing general secretary; Uma Kuppusamy Nachiyappan, the town BJP vice president; and several other BJP women's wing officials from Udumalpet.

The event served as a platform for the local BJP unit to express their outrage over the heinous crime and demand justice for the victim. The participation of various party leaders underscored the BJP's commitment to addressing issues of women's safety and condemning acts of violence against women.
