The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union has been holding protests since yesterday at the District Collector office. Over 100 government employees have taken part in these protests. Some of their demands include striking off Coimbatore’s new pension scheme and hiring new employees in the vacant posts of government departments.
These protests have largely affected the smooth functioning of the government departments as employees across 64 departments including the income tax and development departments have made their defiance evident.
These protestors have apprised that they would intensify the protests if, their pleas go unheard.
