International Conference "Ecofest '24" Held at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University's College of Agricultural Engineering and Research Institute hosted "Ecofest '24" on August 23, 2024, focusing on sustainable energy and environmental synergy, attracting 500 participants.


Coimbatore: The College of Agricultural Engineering and Research Institute at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore organized an international conference titled "Ecofest '24: Sustainable Synergy: Energy and Environmental Nexus" on August 23, 2024. The event saw participation from approximately 500 attendees, including scientists, academicians, and industry experts.

Dr. A. Raviraj, in his address, highlighted the achievements of Energy and Environmental Engineering students in various industries, MNCs, NGOs, and prestigious national and international universities like IITs and NITs. He also mentioned successful entrepreneurial ventures such as Lego Blue Bright.



Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, presided over the inaugural function. She presented appreciation certificates to final-year students who excelled during their internships at various organizations, including Indian Geo-Informatics Center Chennai, Indian Standards New Delhi, Jacobi Carbons India Pvt Ltd Coimbatore, L&T Construction Heavy Civil Infrastructure Chennai, PepsiCo Hyderabad, Hatsun Agro Product Limited Chennai, Nestle India Limited Mysore, SWELECT HHV Solar Photovoltaics Coimbatore, MAHSA University Malaysia, and State Forest Research Institute Chennai.

In her inaugural speech, Dr. Geethalakshmi emphasized the importance of the energy-environment nexus, solar energy, hydrogen fuel, sustainable roofing for buildings, and various government initiatives in the energy and environmental sector. She also released the conference logo and abstract compendium.



Mr. Kumaraguru Rajasekar, an LCA trainer and alumnus of the Energy and Environmental Engineering department at AEC&RI Coimbatore (2006-2010), was the chief guest. In his address, he noted that the conference's theme on artificial intelligence in energy and environment was timely and well-chosen by the organizing committee. He also commended the student volunteers for their efforts in organizing this grand event.



The B.Tech. Energy and Environmental Engineering students meticulously organized Ecofest '24, showcasing their creativity by decorating the conference hall with eco-friendly materials.
