Inspection to be conducted to ensure safety of school buses

Early in 2012, a law was passed in order to inspect school buses yearly once to prevent accidents. These inspections are conducted during holidays, before the school reopens, so that the children return to a much safer mode of travel.

Some of the 16 criterions included for ensuring safety are emergency doors, hand brake, first aid box, fire extinguishers, health and eyesight of the driver. In this manner, road accidents are prevented and safety of school going children is looked after.

In this regard, a team of officials have commenced the process on inspecting the safety standards of the school buses of all schools in the city.
