Mysterious Burglary at Grocery Store in Coimbatore: Police Launch Search for Culprits

A grocery store in Sivananda Colony, Coimbatore, was burgled overnight. The shutter was broken, and cash and goods worth Rs. 15,000 were stolen. Police are investigating the incident.


Coimbatore: In a daring act of theft, unidentified individuals broke into a grocery store in Sivananda Colony, Coimbatore, stealing cash and goods worth approximately Rs. 15,000. The incident has sparked concern among local residents and shopkeepers.

Manikumar, the owner of the grocery store located on Shastri Street in Sivananda Colony, locked up his shop as usual on the previous night. However, when he returned to open the store in the morning, he was shocked to find the front shutter lock broken. Upon entering the premises, he discovered that around Rs. 15,000 in cash and various items, including cigarettes, had been stolen.



Alarmed by the theft, Manikumar immediately informed the Rathinapuri Police. Law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene and collected evidence, including fingerprints and other potential clues. They have registered a case and are currently reviewing CCTV footage from cameras installed in the vicinity to identify and apprehend the mysterious culprits.

The incident has caused a stir in the area, as the burglary took place in a bustling locality during the late hours of the night. Local shopkeepers and residents are now on high alert, urging authorities to increase night patrols to prevent such incidents in the future.

As the investigation continues, the police are appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the identification of the perpetrators. The brazen nature of the crime has raised concerns about the security measures in place for small businesses in the area.
