West Zone IG Inspects Mettupalayam Ahead of Vinayagar Chaturthi

West Zone IG Senthil Kumar IPS conducted an inspection in Mettupalayam on September 3, reviewing arrangements for Vinayagar Chaturthi celebrations, including public meeting venues, idol immersion sites, and procession routes.


Coimbatore: In preparation for the upcoming Vinayagar Chaturthi festival, West Zone Inspector General of Police Senthil Kumar IPS carried out a comprehensive inspection in Mettupalayam on September 3. The visit focused on assessing the readiness of various locations crucial to the festival celebrations.

The IG inspected the venue where the Hindu Munnani organization is set to hold a public meeting. He also examined the Bhavani River, designated for the immersion of Vinayagar idols, and surveyed the routes planned for the festival processions.

During the inspection, IG Senthil Kumar was accompanied by DSP Balaji and Inspector Manikandan. He engaged in detailed discussions with the local police officials regarding the security arrangements and preparatory work for the festival. The IG sought information about the measures being implemented to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations and maintain public safety throughout the event.

The thorough inspection underscores the importance authorities are placing on proper planning and execution of security measures for the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival in Mettupalayam. It reflects the proactive approach of the police department in anticipating and addressing potential challenges associated with large public gatherings during religious festivals.
