New Stormwater Drain Project Launched in SRS Nagar, Pallapalayam Panchayat

A bhoomi puja ceremony marked the commencement of a 6.78 lakh rupee stormwater drain project in SRS Nagar, Pallapalayam Panchayat near Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district.


Coimbatore: A new stormwater drain project was inaugurated in SRS Nagar, Pallapalayam Panchayat near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district. The project, estimated to cost 6.78 lakh rupees, commenced with a traditional bhoomi puja ceremony.

The stormwater drain will stretch for a length of 210 meters in the SRS Nagar area. The inauguration ceremony saw the participation of key local officials and residents. Pallapalayam Panchayat President Sivakumar, Vice President Surendran, and members of the local community were present to mark the beginning of the construction work.

This infrastructure development is expected to significantly improve the area's drainage system, helping to prevent waterlogging during heavy rains. The project demonstrates the local administration's commitment to enhancing basic amenities and addressing the needs of the residents in the Pallapalayam Panchayat area.
