Coimbatore: The Sirumugai police have arrested a man for illegally selling banned gutka products in Vachinampalaiyam area near Sirumugai in Coimbatore district.

Acting on a tip-off about the illegal sale of gutka products in a shop in Vachinampalaiyam, the Sirumugai police conducted a raid in the area. During the search operation, they discovered 850 kilograms of gutka products, which are banned by the Tamil Nadu government, stored in a shop.

Following the raid, the police arrested the shop owner, identified as Sabeek Ahmed. The authorities seized the contraband gutka products from his possession. The Sirumugai police have registered a case against Sabeek Ahmed and are conducting further investigations into the matter.
