Thirukalyanam was held at Anthiyur Varadaraja Perumal Temple near Udumalpet, Tiruppur district, on the fourth Saturday of Purattasi. Thousands of devotees attended and received darshan of the deity.
Coimbatore: Special rituals were conducted at the Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple with Perundevi Thayar in Anthiyur, near Udumalpet in Tiruppur district, on the occasion of the fourth Saturday of Purattasi yesterday.
During the event, Lord Varadaraja Perumal was given 16 types of abhishekams, including milk, curd, and rosewater, followed by a special puja. Later, the deity blessed the devotees in a special decoration.

The main event was the grand Thirukalyanam (celestial wedding) of Varadaraja Perumal, conducted according to Pancharatra Agama traditions. The ceremony included various rituals such as Kappu Kattuthal (tying of the sacred thread) and Malai Maatruthal (exchange of garlands).
Thousands of people from various areas including Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Udumalpet, Pollachi, and Dharapuram attended this special event. They received darshan of the deity, after which annadanam (free food) was distributed to all.
