C.V. Ramkumar receives Humanitarian Icon award for child heart care initiative

The award was presented by District Governor Chella K. Raghavendar during a ceremony attended by senior leadership of [Sri Ramakrishna Hospital](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=3), including Joint Managing Trustee Narendran, Medical Director Dr S. Rajagopal, Medical Superintendent Dr S. Alagappan and a team of doctors.

Ramkumar was honoured for his sustained efforts in the ‘Gift of Life’ project, a joint initiative between Sri Ramakrishna Hospital and the Rotary Club of SaiCity. The programme focuses on providing free heart surgeries for children suffering from congenital heart defects, offering life-saving treatment to underprivileged families.

In his remarks, Ramkumar dedicated the award to the leadership of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, particularly Managing Trustee Dr Sundar Ramakrishnan and the Board of Trustees, acknowledging their role in shaping the institution’s service-oriented vision. He stated that the recognition belongs to the entire hospital community, including doctors, staff and partners involved in the initiative.

He also emphasised that healthcare is fundamentally driven by compassion and that the true value of such efforts lies in improving lives. He expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club and Rotary District 3206 for their continued collaboration and support.
