Election Commission Dispatches Voting Machines to 3,563 Polling Stations Across Coimbatore District

Electronic voting machines and election materials are being transported to all 3,563 polling stations across Coimbatore district ahead of tomorrow's Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, with police and central security forces ensuring safe delivery.


Coimbatore: The process of transporting electronic voting machines (EVMs) to polling stations across Coimbatore district is currently underway ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for tomorrow.

A total of 110 types of election materials are being dispatched to all 3,563 polling stations spread across Coimbatore district. These materials include voting machines, seals, stickers, candidate lists, indelible ink, statutory forms, and other stationery items necessary for conducting the elections.

The distribution and transportation of these critical election materials are being closely monitored by authorities. Police personnel and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed to ensure the safe distribution of materials and to track their movement throughout the district. Security forces are working round the clock to ensure that all materials reach their designated polling stations on time.

The Coimbatore district comprises 10 assembly constituencies where a total of 3,563 polling booths have been set up. Additionally, 1,062 polling stations have been established across these constituencies to facilitate smooth voting.

The election authorities have made comprehensive arrangements to ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner. The timely dispatch and secure transportation of voting machines and other election materials are crucial steps in maintaining the integrity of the democratic process.
