One-Day RTI Training Programme to Be Held in Coimbatore on August 9

Citizens seeking to learn how to effectively use the Right to Information (RTI) Act can participate in a one-day training programme to be organised by the Tamil Nadu RTI Activists Movement in Coimbatore on August 9. The programme will feature eminent RTI activists, retired officials and public interest campaigners. As prior registration is mandatory, interested participants can register by contacting 98422 51061.

Coimbatore: Citizens keen on understanding and effectively using the Right to Information (RTI) Act will have an opportunity to learn from experienced activists and legal experts at a one-day training programme to be held in Coimbatore on August 9.

Organised by the Tamil Nadu RTI Activists Movement, the programme aims to create greater public awareness about the RTI Act and empower citizens to use the legislation as a tool for ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.

The training session will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kongu Narpani Mandram Hall, located opposite Alvernia School in Ramanathapuram on Trichy Road.

Senior RTI activist and public land rights campaigner S.P. Thiagarajan will preside over the programme, while Hakeem of Madurai will serve as the resource person. Senior RTI activists Daniel Yesudas, Rameshkumar, and Pollachi Thangavel will also participate.

Among the special invitees are retired Tamil Nadu Police District Superintendent Rathinam, former Coimbatore Corporation Councillor Krishnasamy, and P.V. Gopal, president of Consumer Voice, Pulaimedu. Senior RTI activist Mathappur Saravanan will deliver the vote of thanks.
