Coimbatore Corporation Public Grievance Day Receives 139 Petitions from Citizens

At Coimbatore Corporation headquarters, Mayor Ka.Ranganayaki Ramachandran chaired a public grievance day meeting where 139 petitions were received from citizens regarding drinking water, roads, street lights, certificates and various other civic issues, with immediate action instructed.


Coimbatore: A public grievance day meeting was held today (28.07.2026) at the Coimbatore Corporation main office under the chairmanship of Mayor Ka.Ranganayaki Ramachandran and in the presence of Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja. During this meeting, 139 petitions containing various demands from the public were received.

The petitions included diverse requests such as birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lights, drinking water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, new water connections, and name changes. The Mayor and Commissioner received these petitions and enquired about the details from the concerned officers.

An investigation was conducted with zonal assistant commissioners, engineers, and officials regarding the actions taken on previously received petitions. The Mayor and Commissioner instructed that immediate action should be taken on the petitions received now as well.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Ra.Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioners Tha.Kumaresan and Ra.Saraswathi, City Health Officer Dr V.C.Subash Gandhi, Assistant Commissioners Narmada (West) and Dakshinamurthy (South). Executive engineers, assistant executive engineers, zonal health officers, engineers, health inspectors, and all other Corporation officials participated in this grievance day meeting.
