Coimbatore Invites Applications for Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards

Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar announced that applications are being invited for the Jeevan Raksha Padak awards recognizing life-saving heroic acts. Applications can be submitted for rescue operations performed between 2024 and March 2026, with the deadline set for August 10, 2026.


Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has announced that applications are being invited in Coimbatore district for the Jeevan Raksha Padak awards, presented by the Government of India for life-saving heroic acts.

The Government of India presents Jeevan Raksha Padak awards to individuals who save human lives in situations such as drowning rescues, electrical accidents, road accidents, fire incidents, landslides, animal attacks, and mine rescue operations.

The Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak is awarded to those who courageously fight and rescue individuals in extremely dangerous situations. The Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak is presented to those who act bravely and promptly, fighting to rescue people in highly hazardous conditions.

The Jeevan Raksha Padak is given to those who save lives by fighting courageously and promptly, even while sustaining injuries themselves.

Applications for the 2026 Jeevan Raksha Padak awards are being accepted for work performed over two years, from 2024 until March 31, 2026.

Award application forms and important details can be downloaded from the website www.awards.gov.in, and applications must be submitted online only.

Completed online applications must be submitted in three copies to the District Sports Office by 4:00 PM on August 10, 2026, stated District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar.
