A new system called the called the 'Breaking System, has been introduced by the Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU) at all its branches across the state.
According to the breaking system, a student with continued arrears from first-year will have to clear his arrears by the end of the second year, failing to which he will not be permitted to enter the third year. The sudden inclusion of this law will affect the current third-year students from continuing their studies, the students grieved.

Today, a group of third-year students from various colleges of TNAU across the state had petitioned to the VC of TNAU to revoke the system as it would curtail their studies.
