An annual book expo 2016 was inaugurated today at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science Coimbatore.
The 3-day expo was inaugurated by Mrs.Latha K.Philip Manager Business Siemens India Limited in the presence of College Principal, K.Chitra.
The Head of English department, Mrs. Anandi Prabhu in her inaugural address mentioned that it's the 5th consecutive year of the book expo. She advised the students to inculcate the habit of reading and revealed on the new innovative techniques practised at their department like happy hours, 'one student one book'. Nearly 2000 to 3000 books are featured at the Expo and special discounts have been announced for the students, she added.

The College Principal, K. Chitra, emphasized on the goodness of reading books. 'With the advent of digital world, people opt to read through e-books but the real joy of reading could be achieved only by real books', she said.
'My passion towards books and reading has brought me here. I am a bookoholic and am always with some book, reading is not an inborn skill but it is an acquired skill' asserted the Chief Guest, Mrs. Latha K. Philip.
'Reading gets complete only after practicing or implementing the thoughts from the books in real life. The habit of reading should be practiced as a part of our daily schedule.The knowledge gained through books will help us to have a good and lasting impression on people and the society' she said. Hence she requested the students to buy books from the expo and feel the joy of reading .

The expo will be open from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm for all school and college students till 31st of August. Diverse varieties of books with attractive offers have been displayed at the expo, hence the students are asked to make use of this opportunity to the best, the Organisers from English Department said.
