Imperial Society of Innovation Engineers (ISIE) and SAE India club of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Kuniyamuthur, Coimbatore, jointly organized the “INDIAN GO-KART CHAMPIONSHIP 2016”from 25th to 28th August 2016 at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Kuniamuthur campus for the first time in South India.
Kart championship is about students applying innovation in design and fabrication of Go-Karts. Around fifty four (54) teams from across 17 states with over 1200 students competed in the mega event.
The final race was inaugurated by Ms.Mira Erda (International Racer, Erda’s Speed Way-F3) accompanied by Mr.Krishna Kumar (Head of J.K.Tyre Motor Sport-Coimbatore ) with Mr.Shyam Kumar (FMSCI) along with Mr.Vinoth Gupta(ISIE-President) and Dr.A.Ramesh (SAE-ISS MC member).

Totally, 35 teams entered the final race track. The karts that were designed were put on endurance tests and the drivers were given speed limits and timings to check the kart's performance.

Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, received the overall champion ( First Place) with a cash prize Rs. 80,000/-
Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, TN secured the Overall runner up (Second Position) with cash amount Rs.40,000/-
Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women, Bhimavaram, AP, won the third place.
Best Driver : Vidya Varadhaka College of Engineering, Mysore secured first position for best Driver, Skid Pad, Auto Cross with cash prize Rs.30,000/-
Best future awards were given to four colleges with cash Prizes Rs.40,000/- (Rs.40,000/- for each college) Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering, Punjab, Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women, Bhimavaram, AP, Hindustan Institute of technology, Coimbatore, Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology, Dehradun.
Best plan award given with cash prize Rs.5000/- to Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore,
Light Vehicle award was awarded to B.S.Abdur Rahman with cash prize Rs.5000/-,
Best Endurance Award with Rs.10,000/- to Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore
People Choice Award was given to Adithya College of Engineering and Technology, AP.
The event identified 18 best performers, DCM Engineering Ltd, Punjab, Tech Imperial Limited, Punjab, will provide job opportunities for all best performers.
