Rs. 10 crore to be allotted for repairing roads and bridges in the Nilgiris - Minister SP Velumani

The Nilgiris: Taking part in the valedictory function of the 66th All India Cooperative Week at Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Minister for Municipal administration and RDI S.P Velumani distributed several welfare measures to the beneficiaries and announced that Rs. 10.3 crores would be allotted by the State government for repairing roads and bridges at areas drastically affected in the recent rains.


The Nilgiris: Taking part in the valedictory function of the 66th All India Cooperative Week at Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Minister for Municipal administration and RDI S.P Velumani distributed several welfare measures to the beneficiaries and announced that Rs. 10.3 crores would be allotted by the State government for repairing roads and bridges at areas drastically affected in the recent rains. 

Addressing the gathering at the Chief Minister's special Grievance Redressal Camp which was held at the Tribal Cultural Center in Ooty district, the Minister distributed Rs.16 crore worth of welfare aids to 2615 beneficiaries.



"In consultation with the CM, funds to the tune of Rs.10.3 crore will be alloted for the construction of a bridge and barrier walls in rain devastated areas in Coonoor", he informed. 

He also thanked the Central Government, Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy for sanctioning approval for setting up a Medical College in the Nilgiris District at a cost of Rs. 350 crore.
