Professors of Sri Krishna Institutions receives UGC grant for five minor research projects.


Five professors of the Sri Krishna Institutions, Coimbatore has received grants for five minor research projects. It has been reported that three professors from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), one professor from Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT) and one professor from Sri Krishna Arts and Science College (SKASC) have received grants from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for their minor research projects.

Dr. R.Soundararajan of Mechanical Department of SKCET is working on a research project titled ‘Effect of reinforcement on A356 aluminium alloy with Fly ash/SiCp Hybrid metal matrix composite produced by squeeze casting route.’ UGC sanctioned Rs.4.70-lakhs grant for him to conduct the research study.

Dr. M. Sujaritha of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SKCET received Rs.2,00,000/- for a research study titled ‘Soil Nutrient Sensing Robot for Precision Agriculture’ and Dr. D. Prabha of the same department was sanctioned Rs.95,000/- to conduct a research study on ‘Ranking based Location Aware Business Recommender System’.

Dr. S. Sundararaj, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering of SKCT, Kovaipudur received Rs.2,30,000/- as grant to conduct a research study on mixing of cellulose with water using venturi-jet mixer for paper manufacturing.

Dr. P. Prasanna (SKASC), Assistant Professor, Commerce Department of SKASC also received Rs.1,45,000/-funds for the research project on ‘Determinants and pattern of saving behaviour in rural households of Coimbatore North and South Taluk.’

Babagnanakumar, Head of the Departments Dr. Ashokvarthan, Dr.Jagatheeshkumar, Dr.Natarajan, Dr.Sumathi and others congratulated and appreciated the professors for receiving the grants.
