Farmers protest demanding supply of water for irrigation

It has been reported that the Vettaikaranpudur canal at Sarkarpathi near Pollachi and Sethumadai canal which comes under the Parambikulam irrigation project are filled with sewage water.

The infestation of water plants has led to the reduced water flow to the end points of the canal. In this regard farmers of Kadamadai village have filed repeated complaints. Today, more than 500 farmers gathered in front of the Vettaikaranpudur PWD office and protested demanding immediate action of removal of water plants and sewage from the canal.
