Acting stern on the tax defaulters, CCMC officials under the directives of Special Officer, Vijayakarthikeyan have disconnected 452 water connections from 27th October to 23rd November, 2016.

Today being the last date for paying Corporation tax dues through demonetized 500's and 1000's, CCMC will initiate stern action against those defaulters who fail to pay taxes promptly. So far, 452 water connections have been disconnected at all five zones in the city.

In this regard, 36 connections have been disconnected yesterday, (23rd November, 2016). In ward No:51, CCMC have placed two dustbins in front of a commercial establishment as even after serving repeated notices the concerned owner has not come forward to clear his taxes of Rs. 2,52,340 (2013-2017).

Hence, residents/commercial establishments should come forward to pay their pending tax dues to avoid such disconnections and confiscations' said Special Officer, Vijayakarthikeyan.
