Stipend for unemployed youth


Tamilnadu government has announced stipend for unemployed youth who have registered with the employment exchange. A monthly stipend has been announced in this regard. Rs. 150 will be given to (unemployed) persons who have completed 10th standard, Rs. 200 for (unemployed) persons who have completed 12th standard. RS.300 is being given to (unemployed) graduates and postgraduates.

To avail the stipend the applicant should have registered with the employment exchange and should be in the waiting list for more than five years. Age of the beneficiary should not be more than 45 in the case of SC/ST candidates and 40 in the case of others. The applicant's family income should not be more than Rs.50,000 and there is not income cap for differently abled persons. The applicant should have completed his school education in Tamilnadu and should be resident of Tamilnadu continuously for 15 years after the completion of the education.

The applicant should be a student of regular college. Those who are studying any course through distance education cannot apply for the stipend. The applicant should have renewed their registration with the employment exchange regularly. Those who are already getting the stipend can continue to receive the scholarship by sending the following to the employment office. A bank pass-book copy with details of Account number, MICR code, and IFSC code along with copy of registration must be submitted at the employment office.

The applications can submit the application and documents in person or the same can be sent through post to the employment office. The persons who are eligible for the scholarships can get the applications at the employment office or can download the form at https://tnvelaivaaippu.gov.in website.
