The Nilgiris : In connection with Christmas eve, the Salem division of Southern railways has proposed to operate a premium round trip of Udagamandalam-Ketti- Udagamandalam train between December 25-29.
According to a release from the Southern railways, the premium round trip service of train number 06173/06174 will start from Udagamandalam (Ooty) at 14.30 hrs every Sunday and will arrive Ketti at 15.00hrs.
The return journey will start from Ketti at 15.30 hrs and will reach Ooty at 16.00 hrs. This round trip service will halt at Ketti for 30 minutes for the passengers to enjoy the scenic beauty of Ketti station.
This special train has first class (seating capacity- 16 seats) second class (seating capacity- 36 seats) and second sitting cum brake van (seating capacity – 30 seats), hence a total capacity of 82 seats.
The tariff will be Rs. 300 for second class and Rs.400 for first class journey. The charges are inclusive of Value added pack worth of Rs.100.
However, no advance reservation facility is available for this train service, the tickets will be issued at Ooty station on the date of journey only.
